Let’s get back to it!

It’s that time of year again: The BILSTER BERG kicked off the new year this Sunday – with the season opener “BILSTER BERG erFahren”.

Usually, the BILSTER BERG is not open to the public, but at the start of the season, the doors are open to the general public. Around 400 visitors from the region took advantage of the free opportunity to get to know more about this unique test and presentation track in East Westphalia. As part of “BILSTER BERG erFahren”, we would like to give the general public the opportunity to experience the track, the terrain and the atmosphere at the BILSTER BERG,” describes Hans-Jürgen von Glasenapp, Managing Director of Bilster Berg GmbH & Co. KG, describes the intention of this event. Although visitors to this year’s Experience Day were once again allowed to put their own horsepower on the track, the focus on this Sunday was on the overall BILSTER BERG experience, which embodies much more than motor sport.

Internal and external horsepower

The drivers who took part in the Racetrack Training were thrilled by the versatility of the track and the balanced mixture of high speed and technical demands. The exciting and impressive challenge: Driving at high speed on the Ostschleife with its long flat sections, and practising sensitivity on the Westschleife with its curves and differences in altitude – this is not an everyday experience. A slalom course on the dynamic surface, in which the participants could take part with their own vehicles, proved to be just as demanding regarding focus and skill. The taxi rides on the track and in the off-road course were also very popular among the guests.

Skills and culinary delights

If all that was too racy for you, you could be chauffeured around the track in the Pollmann Reisen shuttle bus on a comfortable round trip or try out the driving experience on the SegBi.de devices as a Segway tester and master the indoor dexterity course. Local partners such as AC Bad Driburg e.V. or Event-Service OWL answered the visitors’ questions at info booths offering trackdays for cars and motorbikes. The feedback was very positive. The restaurant TURN ONE offered not only a fantastic view of the area, but also a place to go to enjoy a delicious breakfast. But it was not only the facility that excited the participants, but also the BILSTER BERG’s range of products and services. These were presented at the “Celebrate at the BILSTER BERG” in-house fair in the clubhouse. The trade fair showcased numerous possibilities of how individually customised solutions for events can be designed exactly according to the customer’s wishes. Some of the partner companies, such as the caterer Marcus Schuster Gastronomie or Meise Photography, presented their services for the organisation of all kinds of events. Quite a few of the visitors were surprised to learn that, in addition to driving events, the BILSTER BERG also hosts events such as conferences, weddings, incentives or company meetings. And that this is looked after by an experienced planning team. “Many visitors don’t even realise that we are more than just a test and presentation track,” says Managing Director Hans-Jürgen von Glasenapp. He is happy about the many guests who were surprised by the very special atmosphere. “It would be nice if we could welcome as many as possible back here for an event”.
