Where the Grenadier comes alive – off-road training with Becker-Tiemann at BILSTER BERG
What makes a good off-road vehicle? Robustness, traction, and the feeling of being in control in any situation. That’s exactly what participants in the INEOS off-road training course expected on September 20 at the BILSTER BERG site. The event was hosted by the Becker-Tiemann car dealership and offered much more than just driver training. In addition to practical off-road experience, the program also included a technical and maintenance seminar on the INEOS Grenadier.
The off-road course in the forest of BILSTER BERG is not a decorative circuit, but a genuine piece of nature. Originally designed for chassis development, it remains a place where technology and skill are equally challenged. Steep, sometimes slippery climbs, rutted tracks, narrow passages, and hilltops with zero visibility make the course a challenge that pushes every vehicle and driver to their limits. What appears unremarkable at first glance turns out to be a real test of material and courage.
The INEOS Grenadier showed what it was built for in this environment. Mechanical differential locks on the front and rear axles, a center differential lock, a reduction gear, and a robust ladder frame ensured that the vehicle could continue where many others would have given up. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, participants learned to read the terrain, use the technology effectively, and explore the Grenadier’s capabilities step by step. This was no show program, but real off-road training with substance.
Before driving, understanding was key: in the technology and maintenance seminar, experts from Becker-Tiemann provided valuable insights into maintenance, care, and accessories. After all, anyone who regularly drives off-road should not only be able to control their vehicle, but also know it inside out. Topics such as correct tire pressure, cleaning after driving through mud, and sensible protective measures against stone chips and water were the focus of attention.
At the end of the day, the impression remained of a vehicle that not only visually resembles classic off-road vehicles, but also impressively demonstrated its capabilities. The Grenadier clearly felt at home on the challenging terrain of BILSTER BERG, and participants took home not only dirty vehicles, but also a wealth of experience. It was a day that showed that if you can get through here, you can handle any terrain.
